Camping in Beaufort
The Beaufort area is a paradise for camping. It's peaceful atmosphere, warm nights, mostly sunny skies, abundant nature and breath taking scenery make a getaway made in heaven. With plenty of water around, one can just laze around and do some bank or pier fishing or crabbing, or one may want to rent a boat and go out
for a spin. The nights are beautiful, sitting around a campfire roasting marshmallows, and listening to the night critters, watching shooting stars and reminiscing how it used to be... back in them good old days.

Camping at Hunting Island Beach

What  a great way to reestablish family ties, and for the young ones, there's nothing in the world like it. It is a lot more fun than in the back yard. Whether it's by RV or rustic tent and sleep on the ground, it's definitely worth it and makes a great way to clear the mind and have an affordable adventure.

EMS117 : Beaufort Fire Ant Info

When setting up camp, make sure you scout the area for
fire ant mounds
.
As all the folks that live here knows,
these little devils can really ruin a good time. This warning
is even for the native camper. Once, in my excitement
of setting up camp, I forgot to look. It wasn't long before I was doing a dance that would have scared even Indians!
