Lowcountry Shrimp in the Microwave Recipe
Shrimp 1/2 - 1 lbs per person (remove all shells & legs)
Seasoning melted butter, garlic powder, onion salt - if desired

Remove all shells, legs and tails from shrimp

Season as you wish, many use melted butter with a little garlic & onion powder mixed

On a microwave safe plate, place 5 or 8 shrimp and cover with a paper towel
Make sure to cover shrimp or you will end up with quite a messy microwave oven afterwards

Heat on high for about 10 - 15 seconds. Do not overcook or shrimp will be like rubber.
If shrimp starts poping more than a couple of times, it's begining to overcook

Great method for smaller groups or couples. Great with cocktail sauce or a butter dip.

Microwaving Shrimp is actually a very healthy and a fantastic way to cook most seafood, especialy shrimp and clams. The biggest secret is - do not overcook. Remember, cooking continues for a period of time after the microwave it turned off.
Often shrimp will not appear done wen the microwave stops, so people often cook some more - no-no-no - leave it alone - it will finish on it's own!
